From abroad
Renting an RV from Mexico, Spain, and Latin America.
Autocaravana para Burning Man: el alquiler es en Estados Unidos. El permiso mexicano o español no está en inglés. No reservamos el vehículo y no formamos parte de Burning Man Project.
In Mexico the search is a renta de RV. In Spain it is an autocaravana. The counter in Nevada says RV. The 2022 census dispatch put Mexico on the list of countries people came from. Spain was not on that top ten. The Spanish pages cover both, because the licence problem and the flight are the same shape.

We are an independent outfitter. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Burning Man Project. The event name is used so you know which week this is for.
A Mexican or Spanish licence is not an English licence. Travellers Autobarn's US terms want an IDP or an accredited English translation in that case. El Monte's FAQ wants a translation and refuses a provisional licence. Cruise America's notes want the physical licence and a passport, and they refuse a digital licence. Drivers are at least 21. Get the permit where you live, before the flight. We will not name an office we have not opened a current page for.
From Mexico, Las Vegas and Los Angeles are the shorter flights, and Reno is often a connection. From Spain, the first landing is usually San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Las Vegas. Pickup in one of those cities and a drop in another is a one-way. Cruise America's 2026 notes list $750 to or from Reno. We are not going to write a plan that drives a Mexican-plated vehicle onto the playa. Fly in, and rent in the United States.
A motorhome is the tanks and the generator. There are no hookups and no dump in the city. A campervan is the easier drive, and several have no toilet. One contract is the split, among the people sleeping in it. The vehicle pass is on the city's ticketing page. The companies that forbid the trip do not make an exception for a booking that started in Spanish.
Park the rig at camp. The bike is how the city works after that. Buy or rent it in Reno, not in the airport you landed at. Lights, a lock, and a flag are still yours.
Licence, deposit, and the same-day flight rule for every passport are on the flying-in page. The week itself, for someone who has not done this city, is the guide for people flying in. Renting the rig is the Burning Man RV page. Flying in without the box? Ship the gear to Reno. The bike, once the rig is parked, is the bike guide from abroad. The companies that forbid the trip are on the comparison.

Air conditioning after a whiteout, a real bed, and a door that seals the dust. These are the rigs worth booking.

Questions
- Puedo llevar mi camper desde México o España?
- No como un plan que vayamos a escribir. El alquiler es en Estados Unidos, en una compañía que permita el desierto. No aconsejamos entrar al playa con un vehículo emplacado en México.
- Do I need an IDP for a Spanish or Mexican licence?
- On the fleets that require one when the licence is not in English, yes. Travellers Autobarn's US terms and El Monte's FAQ both say that. Cruise America wants the physical licence and a passport, and refuses a digital licence. Read the fleet you booked.
