The yes
Can you take a rental RV to Burning Man?
Two yeses, not one. The event allows an RV. The company that owns the rig has to allow this desert, on a page you can read before you pay.
We are an independent outfitter. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Burning Man Project. The event name is used so you know which week this is for. We do not book the rental.
The camping guidelines say people camp in tents, containers, and RVs, and that Burning Man Project does not provide or sell a rig. You cannot buy one with a ticket. If a camp already has a rule against RVs, their rule is the one that matters for that spot. Ask before you pay a deposit.
Can you take a rental, or only one you own?
A rental can go when that company says so. Cruise America publishes a Burning Man page, and their FAQ names the event next to Bonnaroo as a special-event example. El Monte, Travellers Autobarn, and Escape each publish their own yes, with a fee. The yes is not transferable. Escape's vans have no plumbing. A motorhome from El Monte has tanks. Read the fleet you are booking.
The companies that restrict it are on their own terms. Outdoorsy names the event, and their host article says festival-ground damage, including playa dust, is not covered. RVezy, Moterra, and Fraserway forbid it. Fraserway publishes a minimum penalty of $5,000. Turo bars off-roading and unimproved roads. Jucy lists Australia and New Zealand only. The comparison is those sentences in one table.
Parking, driving, and the pass
There is no parking lot away from camp. The camping guidelines say each camp accommodates its vehicles, including RVs. Walk-in camping is the exception, and it is not where a motorhome goes. The vehicle rules allow you to drive to camp and when you leave. Otherwise the rig stays parked. Bikes and feet do the week. The bike guide is the rental before the gate.
The ticketing page lists the vehicle pass at $165 before taxes and fees, one pass for every two tickets. The event FAQ says you drive the rig in yourself. A delivery that is not on the Outside Services list is not a workaround. Insurance limits are the contract. We do not quote a coverage number the company has not printed. An undeclared trip can affect the insurance at Travellers Autobarn and at Indie Campers, on their own pages. The longer version of the week is renting an RV for Burning Man.
How to check whether a rental RV can go to Burning Man
1. Read the event's own RV page
The event allows an RV, with no hookups, no dumping, and a vehicle pass. The organization does not rent you one.
2. Open that company's Burning Man page or terms
Find the sentence that allows the trip or forbids it. A blog from a different fleet is not the contract.
3. Tell them the desert is the destination
Say Burning Man, in the Black Rock Desert, before you pay. An undeclared trip is a penalty on more than one set of terms.
4. Sort the vehicle pass with the tickets
The city's ticketing page is the rule for the pass. The pass gets the rig to camp. It does not let you drive the city.

Questions
- Can you bring an RV to Burning Man?
- Yes. The event's camping guidelines and RV guidelines treat an RV as one way to camp. You still need a vehicle pass, you park at camp, and you do not dump on the playa. The organization does not sell or rent the rig.
- Are RVs allowed at Burning Man?
- RVs, campers, and motorhomes are allowed under the same camping rules. Some camps do not want them. Ask the camp before you book. A walk-in camping spot is the exception the camping guidelines describe, and it is not an RV plan.
- Does Cruise America allow Burning Man?
- Cruise America publishes a Burning Man page, and their FAQ names the event as a special-event example. Their 2026 client notes are the deposit and the one-way fees. Read the reservation. Another fleet's ban does not apply to them, and their allowance does not apply to a fleet that forbids the trip.
- Can I bring my own RV?
- The event rules are the same if you own it. This site does not arrange a privately owned rig. You still need the vehicle pass, you still park at camp, and you still do not dump on the playa.
