Can I rent in Vancouver and drive to Burning Man?

Renting an RV from Canada.

Two Canadian names come up in this search, and both of them forbid the event on their own pages. A US fleet that allows the trip is a US trip. You do not drive that rig home across the border.

Fraserway's rental rules forbid attending with their vehicles and publish a minimum penalty of $5,000. RVezy's terms list Burning Man Festival, Nevada, under prohibited travel, and their insurance article says a booking identified as the festival is cancelled. Neither page is a booking link we want you to use for this week.

Cruise America's FAQ says a US-registered RV may enter Canada and return to the US, and a Canadian-registered RV may enter the US and return to Canada. One-way rentals between the two countries are not allowed. Canadian residents are not allowed to rent a US-registered vehicle in the US and then enter Canada. Residency follows the primary renter. If you fly into Reno, Las Vegas, or the Bay Area and the rig is for the playa, the drop is in the United States.

A Canadian licence in French is not an English licence. Travellers Autobarn and El Monte both ask for a translation or an IDP when the card is not in English. A licence that is already in English follows the English line on those pages. Cruise America still wants a physical licence and a passport, and they do not take a digital licence. The late-August deposit window is about the US state you depart from, not about the passport.
