Shop the overseas flyer kit. Each piece is its own listing. We don't ship a kit as one box.

How we'd spend

What we'd pack first.

We lead with the piece that does the job, then a lighter spend beside it. A usual range is a typical price, not today's.

A small black power bank and a cable on a crate.

The one we pack

Anker 20,000 mAh power bank

Why this one

A camp does not need a power station to charge a phone and a bike light at 6 p.m. A 20,000 mAh bank covers that personal layer if it starts full and stays out of the noon sun. A fan and a laptop belong on the small station.

Often $40–70

Usual range, not today's price.

The lighter spend

Small dry bag

Why this one

The checklist says waterproof bags for electronics. Dust is the everyday problem. Rain and a tipped bottle are the other one. A small roll-top holds a phone, a battery bank, and the prescriptions. A giant river bag is more than a day kit needs.

A five- to ten-liter bag is often $15–30

Read the note

Dust in the eyes is the dust note. Dust in a phone is this page. The dry-bag page already says the checklist asks for waterproof bags for electronics. The tether page says the should-bring list names phone straps. We link the Survival Guide for that list. We are not adding an IP rating, and we are not telling a story about a case that survived a burn.

A small roll-top dry bag closed on a dusty crate.

A bag you can close

The small dry bag is a roll-top for the phone, the meds, and the spare batteries. Roll it three times and clip it. Test it in a sink at home if you have never used one. A zipper that looks waterproof usually is not, once the dust is in the teeth. A gallon freezer bag is the spare seal for a bank or a cable, the same bags we list for clean socks and used wipes. A sandwich bag splits.

A phone tether is a strap to a belt loop or the bag. The playa eats small things. A strap does not make the phone waterproof. The dry bag is that job when it rains, and the tether is how a dance does not become a lost-and-found errand. Clip it before it can reach a bike wheel.

The station stays out of the dust path

A 20,000 mAh bank rides in the dry bag, out of the noon sun. A power station does not sit in the dust path. Keep it in the shade and off the ground dust. That sentence is already on the station's page. The watts are on camp power, the power kit, and power station deals. We are not printing a new watt-hour here.

Cleanup is the other note

The blower and the vinegar are how the flour leaves a sleeping bag and a bin after the week. That job is getting the playa off the gear. Close the bag before the whiteout. Do not wait for Sunday to invent a case.

Dustproof Supply is our shop for dust at other festivals. Black Rock City still starts on the dust note and the dust aisle on this site. Goggles and a respirator are that page, not this one.

  • Phone, meds, and spare cells in a roll-top, rolled closed.
  • A tether on before you leave camp.
  • A freezer bag as the spare seal, not a sandwich bag.
  • The bank out of the noon sun.
  • The station in the shade, off the ground dust.
  • No IP rating added on this page.
  • Eyes and lungs left on the dust note. The blower left on the cleanup note.

Questions

How do I keep a phone working in Burning Man dust?
Put it in a roll-top dry bag with the meds and the spare cells, and clip a tether so it stays on you. A zipper that looks waterproof usually is not, once dust is in the teeth. We are not printing an IP rating. The dry-bag page does not publish one, and neither does this note.
Can a power station sit in the dust?
Keep it out of the dust path, in the shade, and off the ground dust. The camp-power note and the station's own page already say that. This page does not add watt-hours. The power kit and the power-station deals are the stations we already link.
Does this page include the blower and the vinegar?
No. The blower and the vinegar are the cleanup, on the after-the-burn note. This page is the bag you close before a whiteout. Eyes, lungs, and goggles stay on the dust note.
