Shop the shade anchors. Each piece is its own listing. We don't ship a kit as one box.

How we'd spend

Buy once, then the lighter pieces.

The buy-once piece is the one worth a real cart. The lighter spend still does the job. A usual range is a typical price, not today's.

Each card opens the shop. Amazon links are affiliate links. Your price does not change. How the links work.

Impact Canopy 10 by 10, straight leg

Why this one

Aluminet needs a structure that does not fold up in the wind. The listing we opened is a 10 by 10 straight-leg steel frame, Kelly green, with a roller bag, sold by Canopies Unlimited. That is the frame. The included solid top bakes a camp if you leave it on. The mesh sidewalls are bug netting, not a dust seal, and they become a sail.

Often about $250

Straight-leg shade frame

Why this one

Aluminet needs something that does not fold up in the wind. A straight-leg frame, steel, ten by ten or bigger, is the structure we point people at. Slant-leg pop-ups walk. The pretty canopy that came in the bag is not the shade. Put the open knit on the frame, lag or rebar every foot, and strap the midpoints.

A real frame is often $150–400

Read the note

The shade note is how to choose a structure. The shade kit is the cart. This page is the version you order when you cannot get to a camp pickup. Straight leg. Open knit. A lag at every foot. The solid top stays in the car. That sentence is already on the shade note. We are repeating it, not widening it.

A pop-up canopy with a solid roof, set up outdoors.

What the kit already links

The Impact Canopy we opened is a 10 by 10 straight-leg steel frame. The included solid top bakes a camp if you leave it on, so it stays in the car. A heavier straight-leg frame is the same job when the camp is bigger than ten by ten. Slant-leg pop-ups walk. We are not repeating a wind-speed claim.

The cloth is the open knit, a 10 by 15 reflective mesh with grommets. It is not waterproof, and it is not a roof by itself. It goes on the frame. Lag bolts go in at every foot and back out with a socket. The listing we opened is 3/8 by 12 inches. The lag page already says the city's securing notes describe lags on the order of 12 inches. These are not 18-inch bolts, and they are not rebar.

If you drive rebar instead, cap every exposed end. The impact driver is how the lags go in and come back out. It is tool only. Match the battery you already chose. Ratchet straps hold the cloth to the frame and the load on the drive. Clips and the rest of the line are on the shade kit. Nothing on this page is a new product.

A pickup frame is a different object

Some camps build a knock-down frame and hand it over in person. That is a different object from the frame on this page. We do not review their engineering. We do not print their prices. If you can pick one up, the shade note is still how you stake it. If you cannot, order the straight-leg frame, the knit, and the lags.

If the lags cannot fly

A shade frame and a week of water do not fit a carry-on. Flying in quotes the bus luggage page. Read that page before you pack the frame you hope will squeeze. Reno pickup is a locker, a Hub counter, or a hotel hold for a piece you ordered. We do not ship the carton, and we do not meet you at the locker. If checkout will not offer a locker, that piece does not fit one.

  • Straight legs. The solid top stays in the car.
  • Open knit on the frame, tied at the corners and the midpoints.
  • A lag at every foot, and a plan to pull every one.
  • Caps on rebar, if rebar is the stake you drive.
  • Straps for the cloth and for the drive.
  • A wind plan on the shade-wind note. No new wind number here.
  • A flying plan that does not pretend the frame is a carry-on.

How the lags, the rebar, and the straps get used is shade that stays put in the wind. The aisle is shade gear.

Questions

What Burning Man shade can I order if I cannot pick a camp kit up?
A straight-leg frame, open knit, and lags, from the shade kit we already list. The solid top that comes with the frame stays in the car. The open knit goes on the frame. A lag at every foot. How to choose the structure is the shade note. How the anchors get used is the wind note. We are not adding a wind rating.
Will a shade frame fit in a carry-on or on the Burner Express?
A shade frame and the lags do not fit that allowance. The flying-in note quotes the bus page, and that page wins if the numbers change. A Reno locker, a Hub counter, or a hotel hold is a different errand. We do not ship the carton, and we do not meet you at the locker.
Is this the same as a shade frame I have to pick up from a camp?
No. A camp-built frame you have to pick up is a different object. We do not review that engineering, and we do not print those prices. This page is the straight-leg frame, the open knit, and the lags we already link.
