Appetite gets quiet in the heat, and a camp stove is a lot of work for one person who just needs to eat. Pack food you will finish, in containers you can close. Their precycle page asks for simple meals, food prepared ahead, and less packaging. We follow that. Drinking water is a different job, counted in gallons of water per person per day.
A kitchen for one person is a stove, a cooler in the shade, a bowl, and a backup meal that does not need a burner. A kitchen for a camp is the same idea with more fuel and a second person who knows where the extinguisher is. We do not ship it as one box. The camp kitchen kit is the shopping list.

We are an independent outfitter. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Burning Man Project. The event name is used so you know which week this gear is for.

A sealed meal packet and cold water is a meal you can drink in the shade. Mix it in a shaker bottle so it is not a lump, and count that water in the gallons you already planned. An RXBAR is the meal when you are already on the bike. Heat softens a bar, so the box lives in the cooler and one bar lives in the day bag. Read the wrapper. This is food, not a medical plan. Empty packets and wrappers come home in the trash.
A Jetboil Flash boils water for coffee and a hot meal. Fuel canisters are separate, and a stove canister is not a torch canister. Cook outside, off the tent, and let the cup cool before it goes in a bin. The Survival Guide is where the extinguisher and fuel guidance lives. We keep an ABC extinguisher where the cook can see it. A camp coffee press is optional. The grounds go in a bag. They are moop the second they hit the playa.
The burner does not need the power station. Camp power is for a fan, a laptop, and phones. If the kitchen plan depends on a fridge, that is a different project, and Burning Man camp power and solar says why.
A hard cooler in the shade, lid shut, outlasts a soft bag in the sun. Block ice or frozen bottles outlast cubes. Drain the melt. It is heavy, and it is not drinking water. The potable-water page says ice sales do not replace the liquid water you bring. If you have two coolers, open the food one once a day and let the drink one take the traffic. A cup with a lid is how coffee survives the bike.
A bowl and spork per person, marked, beats a paper plate that blows away before you finish. Washing a pot makes gray water. Their what-to-pack page is the page for gray water. Pour the rinse into a gray-water jug and haul it out. What not to bring covers the packaging you can leave in your kitchen at home.
