A metal press plunger in a camp cup on a dusty crate.

BS-826

Worth packing

Camp coffee press

Burning Man kitchen gear

A press that drops into the stove cup, so morning still happens.

Why it's on the list

Instant coffee works. A press is why people linger under the shade and talk. Get one that fits the Jetboil cup, or a small travel press of its own. Grounds go in a bag and come home. They are moop the second they hit the playa.

How we use it

Pre-grind or bring a small hand grinder. A paper filter is one more thing to pack out. Rinse the press with a splash and save the rinse for the gray-water plan, not the ground.

Heads up

Glass carafes crack in a bin. Choose one meant to travel.
