Sits beside Complete Burning Man packing list/Burning Man dust mask and goggles/Best shade structure for Burning Man/First-year crate
Shop the camp cart. Each piece is its own listing. We don't ship a kit as one box.
A festival checklist and a playa list get searched as if they were the same weekend. They are not. One of them assumes you can refill a bottle, charge a phone at a tent, and sleep in a tent that is also your shade. The other assumes you hauled the water, the shade is a separate structure, and the night is colder than the afternoon looked.
If the week is Black Rock City, the inventory is the complete packing list, and the city's Survival Guide is the rule. If the weekend is some other festival, start at Dustproof Supply. This page is the middle case: a regional, or a camp that fails like the playa, where the gear still matters and the city's rules do not automatically travel.

We are an independent outfitter. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Burning Man Project. The event name is used so you know which week this gear is for.
Each card opens the shop. Amazon links are affiliate links. Your price does not change. How the links work.
Regional events publish their own survival notes, their own tickets, and their own dates. The regional calendar is the index. Open the event, then open the organizers' site. We are not going to copy a date from a search snippet onto this page. If their page says they provide water, shade, or a kitchen, pack the gaps. A vague yes is still a no.
The calendar we point at is regionals.burningman.org. It is their calendar. We are not affiliated with it, and a listing there is not an endorsement of this shop.
Dust that behaves like flour still wants goggles that seal and a respirator for the hour you cannot see the person next to you. Sun still wants shade that is a structure, not a tarp you will bake under, and a hat for the walk. Wind still pulls short stakes. A night that drops still wants a bag and a layer, not the costume you danced in. A bike after dark still wants a front beam, a red rear light, and a lock. A phone bank is not a camp station. None of that requires us to pretend we are the event.

Where to shop
| What changes | Black Rock City | A regional on a dry lake | A festival with services |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water | The Survival Guide's gallons. You haul them. | Their page. Do not paste the city's number onto it. | A refill may exist. Do not assume that here. |
| Shade and the tent | A straight-leg frame over a full fly. | The same failure if the sun and the wind are the same. | A bigger tent is the advice we will not copy. |
| After dark | Lights you charged. A lock. No rental inside the city. | Lights and a lock, unless their page says otherwise. | A signal and a charger are a different plan. |
| Where to shop | This site, after their Survival Guide. | The same gear, after their page. | Dustproof Supply. |
The 1.5 gallon line is the Survival Guide's line for that week. Ice sales in the city are that city's page. Portos, 1-ply, and a bucket if camp has not taken toilets on are Black Rock City problems until another event says they are the same problem. A speed limit, a gate, and an exodus plan do not ride along because the goggles do. If you are packing for the playa, use those pages. If you are packing for a regional, use theirs, and steal only the gear that fails the same way.
A checklist for a weekend with vendors will tell you to bring a power bank, sun protection, a cooler, earplugs, and a rain layer. That part is fine, and it is not enough. It will not tell you that a mesh tent under noon sun is an oven, that a solid tarp bakes the camp, or that adhesive bike-light pads give up once the frame is dusty. It may tell you to bring a bigger tent so two people have room. On a dry lake, the room you need at 2 p.m. is shade over a smaller tent, not more nylon in the sun.
Shade that stays is the structure and the anchors. Dust is goggles and a respirator. The cold night is the bag. Power, counted before you buy the box, is camp power. The ranges on those pieces, without a fake total, are a first-burn kit by price.
