Why it's on the list

The should-bring list says a portable shower with a way to catch the water. A five-gallon solar bag is that shower. It uses water you already counted, and every drop goes in the gray-water jug. Wipes still do most days. The bag is for the rinse that makes Thursday feel human.

How we use it

Heat it in the sun on a clean board, not on the playa, and hang it where the runoff hits a tub you can pour into the jug. A long shower is how you run out of drinking water. The less gray water you make, the less you haul.

Heads up
A shower with nowhere for the water to go is a spill. Public pools and showers are not a thing out here.
