Dangling lights for the stakes

Burning Man shade gear

Small lights you hang on guy lines and stake tops so nobody walks into them.

Why it's on the list

The stake that holds the shade is invisible at night, and that is how a shin finds it. A little light on the line, or snapped on the cap, is how camp stays walkable. These mark the hardware. They do not replace the lag bolts or the rebar. If one falls off, it is moop, so they come down with the shade.

How we use it

Site lights that hang or clip are the ones. The short plastic stakes in some kits are markers, not anchors. Cap the rebar anyway. Charge the lights before a dust day, because a buried panel does not eat sun.

Heads up

A light on a stake is not a bike light, and a fallen one in the dust is your problem to find.
