Why it's on the list
Aluminet and a tapestry need a grip along the edge, not one knot at the corner. A heavy tarp clip bites the hem, and a ball bungee loops the frame and lets the cloth move a little when the wind hits. A set of clips plus a set of bungees is the hardware we hang shade and privacy with. Ratchet straps still hold the load. Lag bolts still hold the frame in the ground.
How we use it
Look for a combined set: about thirty locking clips and thirty ball bungees, six inches or so. Clip the hem, not a single thread of the open knit, or the cloth walks out of the jaw. Space them along every edge. Count them at exodus. A clip in the dust is moop, and a bungee left on the frame goes home with someone else.
Heads up
Clips hold cloth to a frame. They do not anchor the frame to the playa. In a real wind, straps and lags are what keep the structure here.
