A person using a saline nasal spray.

BS-944

Worth packing

Simply Saline daily care spray

ARM & HAMMER

Burning Man dust gear

A saline spray you can use without setting up the rinse kit.

Why it's on the list

The sinus rinse at camp, with packets and clean water, is the real wash. A pressurized saline spray is what you can use on the bike, in a line, and at 3 a.m. when you will not boil water. The first-aid booklet lists nasal saline. People out there keep a spray in the day bag and do the rinse when they get back.

How we use it

Blow your nose first, then the spray. Follow the label. It does not replace the rinse kit at the end of the day, and it is not a treatment. If breathing is actually hard, that is a medical tent.

Heads up

Do not share the nozzle. Keep the tip covered. The camp rinse still wants clean water, not a scoop from a dusty jug.
