Large pashmina

Burning Man dust gear

A big soft wrap for sun, light dust, and the cold ride home.

Why it's on the list

A shemagh is the work scarf. A pashmina is the one people actually keep on: over the shoulders at dusk, over the hair in a breeze, around the neck when the night drops. Leave the whiteout to the respirator. This is the wrap that makes the week feel dressed without a costume bin.

How we use it

Buy it large, soft, and a dust color you like once it goes gray. Cotton or a soft blend. A tiny fashion scarf will not wrap a head and a neck. Shake it out before it rides home in the car.

Heads up

It will not save your lungs in a whiteout. That is the respirator. A synthetic one that melts near a burner is the wrong scarf.
