A headlamp is for walking. A lantern is for staying. We choose a small one that dims, because brightness is the wrong feature at 1 a.m. The listing we opened is the Moji R+. Keep it off the handlebars. A lantern is a camp light, and a poor headlight.

How we use it

The battery is built in. Charge it before the gate. The port is micro-USB, which is the cable people leave in the wrong bin.

It is a camp light, not a bike light. Do not be the rider whose only forward beam is a lantern swinging from the bars.
