Why it's on the list
"I'll drink when I get back" is how an afternoon goes wrong. The city is wide, and a friend's cooler is not a plan. We choose a reservoir with a valve that actually shuts, so you drink while you ride. If you already own a pack, this is the whole purchase. Three liters is a few hard hours, which is why the jugs still exist.
How we use it
Dust loves the valve. Keep the cover on, and rinse the bladder with a little of your vinegar water before you pack it home or it will smell like a science project until next year. Three liters is a few hours of hard sun, not a day.
Heads up
The reservoir is not the pack. If you already own a bag that takes a bladder, you do not need a second costume backpack.
