Why it's on the list
A garden hose is for the yard. It tastes like the yard. If you are filling an RV fresh tank, or running water from a potable spigot into jugs, the hose has to be sold for drinking water. The listing we opened is Camco's 50-foot hose, model 22853, lead-free, with a 5/8-inch inside diameter. It was $46.58 that day.
How we use it
Keep it off the playa until you are at a real potable fill. Cap both ends for the drive so the fittings stay clean. Fifty feet is a lot of hose for a jug fill in Gerlach. Coil the extra. Do not drink from a hose that has ever carried gray water.
Heads up
Amazon noted a newer model on that page. Stay with a hose that says drinking water, not a garden hose in a similar box. Rinse and cap it before it goes back in the RV bay.
