A can of compressed air with a thin straw, aimed at a keyboard.

BS-046

Worth packing

Canned air for dust

Dust-Off

Burning Man dust gear

A short blast for cameras, goggles, and the ports a blower is too rude for.

Why it's on the list

The handheld blower is how a sleeping bag and a car get the flour off. A camera, a lens, a goggle vent, and a charging port want a small, dry blast you can aim. Canned air is that. Hold the can upright so you are blowing gas, not liquid, and do it outside the tent.

How we use it

Use it on the way out and on anything optical. It is not a substitute for the blower, and it is not a toy. The bitterant in these cans is there on purpose. Bring the empties home.

Heads up

Do not spray it on skin, and do not invert the can. This is compressed gas for dust, not a cleaner for lungs.
